Peace Be Still

September 18, 2019

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" This is powerful because the same disciples denied knowing him, some of them didn't have his back when they were questioned. When Jesus was in court, when he was tortured, when he was killed they ran. Then afterwards, they were literally locked in a house hiding from Jewish leaders because they were afraid people would know they were with Jesus in the past.

After they abandoned Jesus, after he was resurrected and stood in front of them what did he say to them? He said Peace be with you! He didn't rub their noses in their sins. He offered them his peace. How does this relate to Step 5? Check out the sermon for answers.
